About AI Baseball Guy

Baseball’s past, seen in a new light.

AI Baseball Guy is a digital history project that uses research, restoration, and a little artificial-intelligence magic to bring forgotten corners of baseball back to life. From long-lost ballparks and logo experiments to stories of the game’s dreamers and eccentrics, we dig through the archives, dust things off, and let the pixels do the polishing.

We’re not here to replace baseball historians — we’re here to equip them. Every story starts with old-fashioned reporting: newspaper clippings, box scores, and decades-old photos. The AI tools come in later, helping us restore footage, colorize images, fill in missing context, or model what might have been. Think of it as a virtual film lab, not a time machine.

What We Make

You’ll find recurring features like the AI Truth-O-Meter (fact-checking baseball’s myths), the AI Swapulator (grading famous trades), the AI Skipper (making modern managerial calls), and Gone Baby Gone (a look at vanished aspects of the game). Together, they form an evolving museum of the game — one that lives online instead of behind glass.

How We Use AI

We treat AI as a creative assistant, not a storyteller. It helps us restore, visualize, and calculate — but the interpretation, the humor, and the heart come from real humans who love the game. We’re careful to keep every AI-generated image, animation, or simulation grounded in documented history. When we imagine, we tell you we’re imagining.

The philosophy is simple: technology should expand baseball history, not rewrite it.
AI can fill in the scratches on an old photo or estimate who really won that century-old trade — but it can’t replace the smell of a glove or the feeling of Opening Day. That’s still ours.

The Goal

AI Baseball Guy exists to make the past feel close again — to let new fans see, hear, and feel baseball’s golden age the way our grandparents did, only sharper and in color. The stories are real, the data is honest, and the joy is the same as ever: the crack of the bat, the weirdness of history, and the endless ways the game surprises us.
